The Subaru BRAT 2.0L 4WD was introduced in 1987, featuring a more powerful 2.0L flat-four engine producing 95 hp. This variant offered enhanced performance and better handling characteristics compared to previous variants. It maintained the classic 2-door pickup body style and was available with either a 5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0L variant was produced until 1993, marking the end of the BRAT model.
