The Mitsubishi Mirage 1.2L was introduced in 1980 as an upgrade to the original 1.0L variant. It features a 1.2L inline-4 engine producing approximately 70 horsepower and a choice between a 4-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. This 3-door hatchback variant provided improved performance while maintaining the compact design.
