The McLaren MP4/5 was a highly successful Formula One race car that debuted in the 1989 season. Designed by Gordon Murray, it featured a lightweight carbon fiber chassis and was powered by a Honda V10 engine. The MP4/5 secured the Constructors' Championship and propelled Alain Prost to the Drivers' Championship title.
