Audi

@audi

A German luxury vehicle manufacturer known for its performance and engineering excellence.

Origin Story

Audi's origin dates back to 1909 when German engineer August Horch founded the company. After leaving his first automobile company due to disputes, Horch couldn't use his own name for his new venture. The solution came from translating his name, which means "listen" in German, to Latin. Thus, "Audi" was born. In 1932, Audi merged with three other automakers to form Auto Union, represented by the four-ring logo still used today. After World War II, the company was reestablished in Ingolstadt in 1949. Volkswagen acquired Auto Union in 1964, reviving the Audi brand for passenger cars in 1965. Since then, Audi has grown into a leading premium car manufacturer, known for its commitment to technological advancement.
